M2FCT Research: Materials (Catalyst) Development
Towards meeting one of the project milestones, several membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) containing cathode catalysts developed at BNL and LANL were fabricated and tested at LANL for performance and durability.
We have evaluated the performance of these MEAs utilizing these five (5) new cathode catalysts both at the beginning-of-life (BOL) and after 90,000 accelerated stress test cycles (AST).
Compared with the state-of-the-art commercial baseline cathode catalyst, we have demonstrated better performance after the end of the AST test (EOT) for all catalysts.
